A pearl in the heart of the United States, Badlands Offroad Park, sits in Attica, Indiana, along the banks of the Wabash River. As an old quarry, the terrain fits offroading like a glove. Started by Troy Myers in 1995, the park has continued to grow under the leadership of Kyle Knosp. Now at over 800 acres, the terrain covers everything from dirt, mud, sand dunes, gravel trails, wooded trails, streams, and a rock-walled quarry for the extreme crawlers.
Amenities now include a general store, a Powersports dealership, UTV Rentals, an ever-expanding RV Park with hook-ups, a food shack, showers, motocross training track, and lots of open parking for staging and day use. There is also easy access for UTV’s to drive into town along paths intended for park traffic.
A family-oriented park, the Badlands includes activities and events for kids, including the largest motorized Easter Egg Hunt. Other annual activities include a Sasquatch Hunt, Customer Appreciation days, Swap Meet, and a Christmas Celebration and Toy Drive. Add on 4th of July celebrations, RC events, night rides, and other special events, and you have a park that has it all.
The Badlands is a pay-to-play private property park on the south-eastern edge of Indiana, about an hour and a half from Indianapolis. Memberships are available, or there is a daily use fee structure providing a safe environment for all your offroading fun. Vacation/housing rentals are also available at the park boundaries for easy access to the park.
If you’re looking for a destination park or traveling through the Midwest on your way somewhere, it’s worth a day at Badlands to check out the terrain. The park is typically open seven days a week.
